Torrey Pines State Reserve

Torrey Pines is just a couple of minutes north of La Jolla in San Diego county. A few of us hiked through the hills on Earth Day freshman year. We only had a few short hours to spend and really only got to go on one trail.
Today, my roommate and I went on an adventure through Torrey Pines! I know this definitely isn't considered hiking in the 'real world,' but for us, it did the trick. It was a beautiful day on the coast. Cyclists, joggers, tourists, families... and us. We went through a bunch of little trails. As many as we could handle. Took photos of interesting plants and our views of the blue ocean. The final trail we took led to the beach below the cliffs. We then walked, what I assume was, about two miles along the beach. I think we were about to sneak up on a nudie beach at that point, so we turned around. :) After our adventures through the wilderness, we feasted on some Greek food in La Jolla. A pleasant day, I must say. (Though I have to admit I am SORE)
Look up some pictures of Torrey Pines on Flickr. People have posted some great shots.

oh, PS: I just got a job at Starbucks. :)

Book Tag

I was tagged by my big bro to do this: "Go to page 123, and beginning with the 5th sentence, transcribe the following 3 sentences."

I'm currently almost finished with a book I got for 5 bucks by Augusten Burroughs (the guy who wrote Running With Scissors). Let's see what it has to say...

"So why would I notice anything at thirty? But when I turned thirty, something was indeed left behind. Suddenly, inexplicably, a piece of me went missing."

This is the beginning of a chapter about how Burroughs' dating habits changed at thirty. He noticed he no longer had the ability to say "no" and would go on a second date even if the first was horrible. It was a funny little story.
